New Zealand Cricket has announced its male contract list for the 2023/24 season with some familiar Auckland faces, plus a returning prodigal son, making the cut.
Attacking opening batter Finn Allen has announced he will return to the ACES after three seasons playing for the Wellington Firebirds. He joins the NZC contract list after establishing himself in the top order of the BLACKCAPS white ball teams.
“I’m really excited to be back home and playing cricket for Auckland again. Looking forward to getting stuck in with the boys this season and hopefully adding some value to the culture,” says Allen.
Left hand batter Mark Chapman has been rewarded with another contract following a good home season with the BLACKCAPS.
He was particularly impressive in the T20 series in Pakistan where his 290 runs at a strike rate of 165 allowed the visitors to compete with a stacked Pakistan side.
Fast bowler Lockie Ferguson completes the Auckland players awarded central contracts for 2023/24.
Kyle Jamieson will relocate to Canterbury for the upcoming season. Jamieson represented the ACES for four seasons and was particularly successful in red ball cricket, where he took 28 wickets at 16 for Auckland.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed the 4 years I have spent with Auckland Cricket and the experiences I have been able to have and share with everyone along this journey is something I will be forever grateful for,” says Jamieson.
