November saw the return of District Tournament cricket for the season with the U19 girls competition taking place over four Sundays from 6th til the 27th. Five teams representing geographical regions of Auckland fought for the trophy with a mixture of 40 over and T20 cricket at three different venues.
While the abject weather certainly played its part, affecting all but one of the weekends, there was just enough cricket to crown an eventual champion.
In the end the juggernaut of the combined Tauraki/Waitemata team came up trumps, not losing a single match and were declared worthy winners.
Auckland HEARTS stars Katie Perkins and Josie Penfold handed their winners medals to the Harbour team at the prizegiving ceremony in the North Shore Cricket clubrooms.
