CRICKET IN SCHOOLS

Auckland Cricket offer many opportunities for children across the region to be involved in cricket activities.

Below is a summary of our programmes offered for Primary and Intermediate schools.

BATFIRST

BatFirst will put a bat in the hands of every Year 3 child that attends a Decile 5 or lower school in Auckland.

GIRLS SMASH
Girls Smash is a fun and social programme for girls in school years 3-6. Offering girls of all skill levels an opportunity to experience cricket in a fun, inclusive format.

YEAH GIRLS

Yeah! Girls sessions are girls-only hubs across Auckland for 10–17 year olds, and all about giving it a go, games focused on having fun and being active with your friends.

AWARENESS
With an emphasis of fun, kids learn the key elements of cricket, including batting, bowling and fielding.

CLUSTER DAYS
Schools are clustered to their local cricket club and can enter team(s) for the clubs Cluster Day and play other local schools.

EDEN PARK FESTIVAL
The Eden Park festival is played at the Outer Oval in term 4. Winning teams from regional year 5/6 tournaments, held by RSTs and local clubs, are eligible to enter.

T10 QUIKHIT
A modified version of cricket that provides a fun, fast and enjoyable experience playing cricket for Year 7-13 players new to cricket.

SATURDAY SCHOOL TEAMS
A number of schools take advantage of coaching, facilities and subsidised fees many clubs offer. If you have kids interested in playing cricket, we can help connect you with a club.

AC DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION
The Auckland Cricket Development Foundation (ACDF) may assist with funding to install and repair artificial wickets and practice nets.
