HEARTS head to Hamilton for Labour Weekend

HEARTS head to Hamilton for Labour Weekend

Praneel HiraHearts

The Auckland HEARTS are back in action this Labour Weekend with three matches against the Northern Spirit in Hamilton.

A host of unavailabilities sees a young squad traveling south for what should be a competitive series of matches. The HEARTS will play two 50 over matches on Saturday and Sunday before a T20 on Monday.

Tomorrow’s match will be played at Seddon Park, while the remaining two matches will be held at St Paul’s Collegiate.

Regina Lilii, the HEARTS new vice-captain, will take the reigns with skipper Anna Peterson available due to injury. 20-year old Bella Armstrong will serve as Lilii’s deputy for the weekend.

WHITE FERNS Lauren Down, Holly Huddleston and Katie Perkins are also unavailable having remained in Australia as WBBL cover.

Lilii is excited to see the HEARTS back in action.

“Our focus for the weekend is to make the most of every opportunity.

“It was nice to get outside for training this week and now we can try some things we have practiced over winter and get into the groove of cricket season.”
