After the extended lockdown of 2021 wiped out school sport in Term Four, School Cricket returns this Saturday and players are raring to go and enjoy our summer game.
Many of the players enjoyed tournament-style cricket over the school holidays through their District or Club and now get the opportunity to represent their school colours once again.
District Tournaments (in December) and Summer Series (in January) saw over 100 teams participate and provide cricketing opportunities.
This summer over 200 teams will compete in College Sport competitions, coming from nearly 50 schools this term.
For the Boys 1st XI competitions, Saturday marks the start of a Term One / Four one-day competition as well as competing in a mid-week T20 tournament.
The Girls 1st XI teams will start their competition next Wednesday.
General Manager of Community Cricket Dean Bartlett said Auckland Cricket is thrilled to see the players back enjoying cricket for their Colleges.
“We thank College Sport and all schools for supporting the delivery of cricket.
“We wish all players the best of luck for Term One.’
All draws are visible on CricHQ and on our Fixtures and Results Page.
